Joseph C. Nagengast, President, Turnstone Advisory Group LLC

Mr. Nagengast founded Turnstone Advisory Group LLC to bring the best principles, strategies and efficiencies of institutional investing to broader group of investors. Joe has directed the institutional consulting practice and has lead investment research for a major consulting firm. For over twenty years he has consulted clients on issues of institutional investing, fiduciary compliance, and retirement plans and policies. His experience covers a wide spectrum of the institutional investment industry and includes service with a retirement consulting firm, investment management firms and a multinational plan sponsor.

Throughout his career Joe has helped employers get the most out of their benefit dollars by keeping a sharp focus on efficient delivery to the plan participants. He consults plan sponsors to “do it right;” thereby fulfilling their fiduciary obligation and delivering the best benefit possible to the plan participants.

He is a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist, a past president of the Los Angeles Chapter of ISCEBS, a founding member of the Southern California Chapter of Investment Management Consultants Association, a member of the American Society of Pension Actuaries, and the Western Pension & Benefits Conference. He is a regular speaker and writer on topics related to retirement plans and institutional investments, and is currently co-authoring the first comprehensive analysis of LifeCycle and LifeStyle Funds, due for first release in 2006. Joe has a BA in Linguistics from UC Santa Cruz.
